Favoirte Distress Oxide Inks With DT Lynnea

Hello, everyone! It's Lynnea and I'm here to share my favorite Distress Oxide ink color combo! Right now I'm absolutely loving blues and purples together and I love Salty Ocean, Faded Jeans, and Seedless Preserves! I'm using one of my favorite techniques - Oxide inks on glossy cardstock with Distress Micro Glaze!

I don't know about you, but I'm currently craving warmer weather! I know I'll kick myself when it's 110 degrees...I really don't like to sweat! Haha! I thought I would create some warm inspired cards!

Okay! So for some supplies I gathered a piece of glossy cardstock, an acetate sheet, Distress Micro Glaze and a blender, water, and Salty Ocean, Faded Jeans, and Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide inks.

I started by smooshing some Salty Ocean Oxide ink onto the acetate and spritzing it 3 or 4 times with water. I didn't want too much water because I didn't want to completely cover my cardstock with ink. I wanted to control where the ink went.

I pushed the acetate onto the cardstock and this is the result when I lifted it up! Without adding more water I smooshed the remaining ink on the acetate over my cardstock to give it a spatter appearance.

I did the same thing with Faded Jeans Oxide ink....

And then again with Seedless Preserves Oxide ink.

I also used the same 3 colors of ink to spatter ink all over my cardstock. The above photo is what I had after all the inking was complete. You can see how chalky the oxide inks look. I'm not a huge fan of the chalky ink, but if you are you could stop here and add your images and sentiment. I love how Distress Micro Glaze reacts with Oxide inks on glossy cardstock and brightens up the colors! All I did was dip the blending foam into the glaze and blend it over the cardstock.

Check out the difference! I love it! Everything brightens and you can clearly see all the different layers!

I colored up some summertime images from the Summer Vibin' stamp set with my Staedler pens and blended out the color with water for a watercolored look.

For the sentiment I white heat embossed a couple of sentiments from one of my favorite stamp sets - Sparkle.

Thanks for joining me!
