Water Coloring With DT Ashlea

Hey everyone! It's Ashlea from ashlea_crafts, and I'm so excited for my first post on the CDD blog!

Today I'll be showing you how I created this beautiful and super simple watercolor background card. Feel free to use your own colors. These are just what worked best for me! Also, check out the links below for all of the products I used.

This video tutorial walks you through step by step of the supplies you'll need and how to make it all come together.

I love using this technique for watercolor background on cards. Its pretty much fool proof and almost no artistic ability is required.

Try using this technique with lots of different colors to create an ocean, a brighter sky, or even rainbow themed.

Zig Clean Color Real Brush marker make watercoloring characters a breeze. If you've been waiting to try watercolor because you're not used to it, give these markers a try before you swear it off completely.

Let me know if you tried this technique and how it worked for you! I'd love to see your creations. Drop your Instagram or blog in the comments!

See you soon!

  1. The watercol9r background looks very nice and I l9ved your card. Thanks for the video:)

  2. Such a beautiful project. Thank you. I'll definitely be giving this a try. Xx

  3. Your card is so ADORABLE!! Love the watercolor background, I am not good with watercolor, that is one of my goals for 2018 to work on that, I do have a few Zig markers but not many I have a couple watercolor kits that I bought last year I just can't get a handle on it. I am more of a Copics girl and use paper for my background. I love that stamp she is so super cute I think I might have to get her, so adorable. Thanks for sharing. Tracey Magner
