Hi Crafty Friends - DT Janni here.
Today I want to show you how I made this card using the Partial Die Cutting Technique. I made a glittery and pink Birthday shaker card with the cute unicorn Believe on stage from the January Release <3
I started by cutting a white cardstock in 5"x 5" and a silver glitter cardstock just a bit smaller.
Now it's time to get started with some die cutting!
I took the large die from Inside Scalloped Circle Dies and placed it on the silver cardstock close to the top of the cardstock. I used some washi-tape to keep it in place, and as a guideline to know where to die cut.
When placing it on my Big Shot, the top cutting pad only goes to the top of the washi-tape, that way it will only cut to that line.
Here you see the cardstock is not cut all the way down, and I can cut away the pieces I don't need.
Now I have made a half circle for my shaker card - it looks like a little stage.
I fussy cut a circle of acetate in the same size as the stage and added it with double adhesives tape to the back.
I added foam tape to the back, making sure the sequins won't fall out.
Yay time for sequins <3 The sequins I choose are Sweet Sixteen Sequins
Here you see my shaker card stage. I did add some Shimmer Sequins to the shaker too. Love the look of this!
I used the new Happy Die in black and white cardstock, and stamped Birthday from Sending Sentiments on my favorite banner from Flag Banner Dies
Time for some Copic Coloring.
The colors I used: Unicorn C0-C1-C3-C5, Hair RV000-RV02-RV04, Hearts RV04.
Here is a close-up on my unicorn on stage.
For the last touch I added some sequins og and highlights for the cheeks.
I hope you are ready to try this out yourself - it's really easy!
See you soon again.
Hugs,
Janni
