Under The Moon & Stars

Hey y'all! It's Lissa again! I wanted to show you a card I made using the newly released Happy Camper stamp set and Fall Border dies. And, of course, what better way to frame a scene than by using the Inside Scalloped Rectangle dies? I just LOVE this little sloth in the sleeping bag! I decided to make a night sky scene, so everything but the little sloth, moon, lantern, and campfire are in silhouette. Now, I could've colored my little sloth to match the light source of the lantern, moon, and campfire, but I wanted to show you that you don't have to! You can have a really cute scene and not have the light source perfect. If someone is going to pitch a fit about your light source on your card, then they don't need to have the privilege of getting one of your cards!

As you can see, my light source on my image isn't perfect, but it's still an adorable card!

So, first, I colored up some of the images from Happy Camper. Next, I cut a piece of watercolor paper using the tree line from the Fall Border dies. Then I inked that piece up with Black Soot Distress Oxide ink. I cut that piece also with the frame die so that it would fit seamlessly into the frame.

I stacked up 5 frames on top of each other to give my frame some depth. I inlaid the night sky piece and the tree line piece and started to build my scene. I was going to add more to it, but I decided I wanted the little sloth to be enjoying some peace and quiet of a camping trip.

Finally, I added all my images, then added a bunch of star sequins to the sky and added my sentiment to the top using my favorite banner from the Flag Banner dies.

Here you can see a close up of my coloring of the images. Nice and simple, but it still looks great!

I wanted to thank y'all for stopping by to see me on the CDD blog! I hope this has helped if you've been thinking you can't make a scene with a campfire unless you make it part of the light source.
