Happy Birthday Shaker

Hello Everyone and Happy Friday!!! It is Lindsay from the DT here with you today, sharing my second card for this month's Social Media Challenge! If you aren't familiar with the #cddmonthly challenge head HERE to read all the rules, then head HERE in the photos tab of the Facebook Group to check out the gorgeous mood board for this month!! For my card today, I really wanted to create a shaker in between two panels, but wasn't quite sure how to do it. I've seen people make shakers like this with stamp pockets, but I really wanted the sequins to move a bit more freely. Be sure to watch the video tutorial below to see how I put together this center shaker card, and learn from a few of my mistakes as well!!!
ENJOY!!!

I really suggesst watching the video tutorial for this card in order to see how this was really put together. Like with all of my digital stamped card, I started in Photoshop Elements with an A2 sized new project with a white background. Using the flowers included in the Butterfly Garden Digital Stamp Set, I made two rows of flowers on both the left and right sides of the panels, alternating between the two flowers. When I was happy with the panel, I printed it with my laser printer onto white cardstock, making sure to print with crop marks.

After trimming out the panel using the crop marks, I picked out a few pastel alcohol markers to color in the flowers. I used the mood board as my inspiration for the color combo! Then, I cut off both edges to create an opening in the middle for my shaker. For the full run down on how to put the shaker together, plus to learn from a few of my mistakes, watch the full video tutorial above!!
Finished Card 3
I filled the shaker with the new Arizona Skies Sequins to match the mood board colors and then started to finish off the card. After attaching the shaker to an A2 top folding white card base, I added a banner die cut, from the Flag Banner Die Set with a bit of fun foam and double sided adhesive. Before I adhered the banner I did stamp on a Happy Birthday sentiment from the Simply Said Stamp Set. That completed the entire card!
Finished Card 4

This was quite an experiment, but I am pretty happy with the way this card turned out! I hope you watched the full tutorial and learned from some of my mistakes, so you too can make your own center shaker card! And don't forget to enter a card of your own into the #cddmonthly social media challenge this month for your chance to win some great prizes!!
