Hello Everyone!! It's Lindsay from the DT here with you today and I am so excited to share a card set using the brand new Window Pane Dies. If you haven't been following the New Release Facebook Event, be sure you head over and check out yesterday's reveal and click the "Going" button so you stay up to date on all the reveals, Freebies, and Giveaways! If you want to see how I created two cards using the brand new Window Pane Dies, be sure to watch the video tutorial below!!
Starting with the new Window Pane die I die cut two of the window shapes from white card stock. While I had my die cutting machine out I also used the wreath shape from the Stitched In Circles Die Set to die cut several of those from different shades of green, 2 from a darker shade and 4 from a lighter shade of green. I also wanted to go ahead and get my sentiment banners cut and stamped so using a coral card stock I cut a piece that was 3" x .5" and trimmed both ends at an angle. Then I put in score marks 3/4" from each end then 1/8" from the first score mark. This would allow me to fold the ends of the banner in for a more 3D effect. On each banner I used Versamark Ink and white embossing powder to stamp and heat emboss sentiments onto each one. I used the Simply Said Stamp Set and the "Congrats!" and "Hello" sentiments specifically.
These scenes were so easy to put together. First, I layered up the wreaths by gluing three die cuts together - Two lighter wreaths sandwiching a darker green wreath. While those were drying I adhered the window pane die cuts onto patterned paper with fun foam and double sided adhesive and trimmed around each one so no paper was peeking out from behind. Next, I adhered the wreaths onto the center of each pane and added the sentiment banners with more fun foam. Finally, I added a twine string and little bow to each wreath and secured them down with hot glue.
To finish off these two cards, I adhered each window pane panel onto an A2 top folding kraft card base using some pretty strong double sided adhesive to make sure everything, including the twine, stayed put. And to top everything off I added some Nuvo Crystal Drops in Sugared Almond to each wreath. I applied little tiny dots in groups of two or three to appear as berries on the wreaths!
These cards were a snap and so much fun to make. They are perfect for a new home owner, to say hello, or for any shabby chic lover!
